Alex Papaconstantinou (professionally known as Alex P) is a Greek–Swedish songwriter and producer whose work bridges pop, dance, and Latin music. Born in Brännkyrka, Sweden, he first gained recognition writing for prominent European artists including Antique/Helena Paparizou, Anna Vissi, Arash, and Paulina Rubio. In 2011 he joined RedOne’s 2101 Songs team, co-writing Enrique Iglesias’s “I Like How It Feels” and Khaled’s “C’est La Vie,” earning multiple BMI Awards and launching an international career that spanned markets and languages.
Alex P’s compositions have reached audiences worldwide. Marc Anthony’s salsa adaptation of “C’est La Vie,” retitled “Vivir Mi Vida,” won the 2013 Latin GRAMMY for Record of the Year and spent over a year in Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Top 5. He also co-wrote and co-produced Magic System’s “Magic in the Air” (feat. Chawki), a major French-language hit and anthem during France’s 2018 World Cup run. Other collaborations include Jennifer Lopez’s “Live It Up,” Nicki Minaj’s “Whip It,” and Paulina Rubio’s “Boys Will Be Boys.”
Alex P has been a regular creative presence at the Eurovision Song Contest, contributing entries for Greece (“Yassou Maria,” 2007), Azerbaijan (“Always,” 2009), and Cyprus, including Eleni Foureira’s “Fuego” (2018), which topped charts in Greece and Spain. Beyond writing for others, he has released music as The WAV.s with Adam Baptiste and as part of the Swedish pop trio VAX. He continues to write and produce across English and Spanish markets, maintaining a global reach while developing new artists and collaborations.
